MAPUTALAND NATURAL & UNTOUCHED BEAUTY

The name Maputaland is derived from the Maputo River, which flows through the area. Maputaland was originally submerged underwater and has only risen slightly above sea level, meaning that the region is now dotted with slowly moving rivers, freshwater lakes, and vast pans. These bodies of water are home to many diverse species of fish, water birds, crocodiles and hippos waiting to be discovered.

Maputaland is one of the most unspoiled landscapes in KwaZulu-Natal. It encompasses the Sodwana Bay Coastal Reserve, Tembe Elephant Park, Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, Kosi Bay Nature Reserve, Ndumu Game Reserve and the False Bay Nature Reserve.
